2 more newbie questions

Post by z.rafael »

Just 3 days with the fantom xr.

thanks for your patience.

I am using the synth exclusively in performance mode, from Cakewalk pro 9.

Q#1: I am trying to play in part 10 (midi channel 10) the user preset # 5 (neo-world kit), but when I try to record, the fantom changes to GM 001 Standard...

I tried, saving the performance again, with the user preset 5 in part 10... but with the same results.

Q#2: Sometimes I have the same problem not with a patch, but the the performance itself, changing from one performance to another one. This happens specially if I am using an old cakewalk file...

Thanks for any help

Parts in a Performance cannot change on their own accord, nor can a Performance switch to another, without a MIDI command telling it to. This points to your sequencer. It sounds to me like Cakewalk 9 is sending MIDI change messages.

In the song you're playing from Cakewalk 9 have a look on the event list (I assume it has one? - I use Sonar 5) and look for program changes and the like. Delete them as necessary (having saved a renamed version of the song so you can revert to it if necessary).
