You're welcome Bappi...you've over-thanked me.
Don't worry, you'll have the opportunity to help someone on the forum as well...that's how this thing works.

Re: TO ALL INDIAN FANTOM-S USER
jangy,
I have just express what I feel.
I have download all the sample what you mention. But most of them are mp3 and not a single note sample. So What can I do?
What do you think can I use the samples in my fantom?
Sorode,sitar,tabla samples are really needed.

Shakil,
Thanks for listening and your encouragement. I'm listening to your stuff right now. I am feeling as if I'm back in Pakistan while listening to your music... a very nice feeling. I like the drum arrangements and the tempo settings, which is just right for this kind of music. Is it you singing on "Dais Hamara" & "Honton say choo lo"? Very nice.
"Desi Long" - starts off with a catchy guitar riff and production wise it's very well-balanced. I feel this one a lot.
"Ethnic Recreation" - once again, drum arrangement is great. I would turn down the slap bass a bit to have it blend better. I like the tanpura type patch in this tune.
Yaar, your percussion arrangements are awesome. I'm really impressed.
I graduated from NYU and now based out of Atlanta area.
thanks,
Emran

If you are not familiar with editing patches and samples, then you have a lot of reading and understanding ahead of you before you try to import raw audio samples into your Fantom. I would suggest reading the Fantom S owner's manual right away (especially the chapter on "Editing a Sample"):
http://lib.roland.co.jp/manual/en/dl_06 ... r_e5_1.pdf
Here's a nice free little mp3 to wav converter for Mac/Windows/Linux(converts many other formats also). I recommend :
http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index_b.ht ... PgodwDvfaw
If you are not ready to edit samples/patches right now, I would strongly recommend that you buy the SRX-09 World Collection expansion board any way you can. There are a lot of great sounds on it:
http://www.roland.com/demos/en/SRX_IT/index.html

Bappi,
My friend, I hate to put this so directly but the patches you're asking for, are not being used by many people therefore WE DON'T HAVE THEM. Secondly, as much time and effort you have wasted on asking for these patches again and again, you can very easily tweak some existing patches to make it work for your use, search for them on the internet (as people have already sent you links/info) or sample the sound for yourself from the original instruments which are readily available in your country and share them with the rest of us. Ofcourse, it takes resources to sample these instruments (it would take actually more effort for someone like myself because these instruments are not easily available to me). These are all very realistic solutions but it seems to me that you have set very high standards (I gather from your previous posts that Triton sounds, World expansion board, samples are all not viable options for you). Most of the top notch musicians are using sample libraries (including the likes of A. R. Rahman etc.). These are very easily available on the internet. If you don't have a credit card, borrow your Dad's or some friends' and pay them in cash.
Bappi, what I'm trying to tell you is that it's a minor hurdle. Get yourself out of the delimna mode, work out the problem and spend all your energy on music making. I hope that you take it as a constructive critisizm and not get offended by it bacause my intention is definately not to offend anyone here. Thanks,

Re: TO ALL INDIAN FANTOM-S USER
Noone can realize which I want.
I can tweak patch but the patches will not be the best one or better. In my reagion only I have Fantom-s, others have Roland60/80/50 or triton lee or korgN364. And I want my Fantom-s's sound will be the best. That is why I ask you all to give me some patch.
I wanted only 5/6 patches from you not all of your patches.
I am not in India. I am from Bangladesh. A few people use internet here. And I have not found yet any person in our locality who have International Credit card. So how can I buy sample cd?
Ok. Thanks everyone who wants to help me. And I am puting my patches here. plz comment .
**If anyone have time or wish to help me you can modify and send to me.
Thanks to all.
**sambasevam dada, I have not get any e-mail from you.
**Vishal dada, the patches which you have sent to me I already downloaded these from this site.

Re: TO ALL INDIAN FANTOM-S USER
Bappi,
It's not that no one realizes what you need. I think we do but we don't have the patches that you're asking for. Not everyone makes Desi music and ones who do, they are not too picky about the patches that they use to create it or they learn to program their synths. I agree, good paches makes a big difference but there are several other factors (composition, arrangement, melody, harmony, recording, mastering etc) that contribute to the overall effect of the music.
You already have the best synth in your region (IMHO) then why not learn to program it. Also, what about sampling real instruments yourself? All you'd need is a mic pluged into your fantom, the instrument itself, a relatively quite environment, sampling knowledge and motivation. Please Don't tell me that you don't have these available in Bangladesh.
Best of luck to you my friend!!

Re: TO ALL INDIAN FANTOM-S USER
Bappi,
i sent offline messages to your yahoo ID. Check them out. Basically what i was trying to tell was that, there's a CLEARANCE SALE in www.soundsonline.com. You can get good CDs from them for CHEAP prices (think 20 dollars = 1000 ruppees appx.)
So, go there, order some CDs (The Ultimate Strings Collection, RARE instruments, Pop Brass, etc.) and they'll ship them to india. This is the best i can do. I really dont have any fantom patches for you. Its not that i'm not willing to share, i just dont have them.
Regarding the CDs, they're of EXCELLENT quality. The strings are phenomenal and certainly useable in live situations. I also have the QL BRass, which is very good, to say the least. This CD also has sax, trombone, mute trumpet, etc.
Good luck,
Sam.
