How to convert a stereo sample into 2 mono samples ?

Post by Alexander »

Is there any way to split up a stereo sample inside the fantom-S so that I can delete one of the two samples ?

I thought about resampling, but isn´t there any easier way ?

No, there is no way to do this on the Fantom itself except for resampling.

Although that may sound like a good idea
believe me its not.
storing mono/inporting saving mono samples just to save space will casue assignment problems later on and will push other stereo samples out of local in memory
example:

all stereo samples assum numeric 1 for left and 2 for right 3 for left and 4 for right and so on...

however if you store or import a mono sample to location 7
then all samples will loose there natural position in memory
so now what you get is left on 8 and right on 9 instead of left on 9 and right on 10

this is how it happend to me so i gave up storing mono.
if i need asample to be mono i just play one cannel.
