HELP ME PLEASE!
Hi everyone i know this sounds wierd but i need help. I am trying to Midi the Fantom-S,Triton Extreme,Mpc 2000XL and Pro Tools MBOX 2 all together. If its too crazy Just help me out with the Triton Extreme and the MPC. Ps Thank you guy s i know you all will come up with something.
Re: HELP ME PLEASE!
Hi phase1, first you need to work out which one will be the master. One of the them sets the midi time code or midi clock.
Then you need to work out which ones send midi to control the other devices.
If you can draw it on a piece of paper, you have a better idea how it will all fit together.
Its a wonderful dilemma to have, lucky you

Sorry for not responding directly but your question is too vague. Try to give us more clues about what you want. Like LivePsy says , it would be a good idea do choose what/wich will be the master controller. Generally, you have to think that MIDI is a "one-way" comunication system so you must "send" MIDI data "from" one device's MIDI OUT "to" another device's MIDI IN.
One good solution for this kind of problems is to use a commonly forgoten device - a MIDI Patcher/switcher. With this you can connect ALL your OUT and INs to a single device and from there choose what OUT connects to wich IN
see for example : http://www.edirol.net/products/en/UM-880/index.html or http://www.edirol.net/products/en/UM-550/index.html

HELP ME PLEASE!
Hi everyone and thanks for your help. I understand what you all are saying so im going to map it out like this. I want the Fantom-S as Master because im more familar with it then i am with the Trinton EXT. Basicly i want to be able to create a melody on my keybaords then the drum pattern on my MPC. Then after im done i want to record each track 1 by 1 into pro tools for the final mix.
