New Roland Products up at rolandus.com

Post by 2TIM316 »

Sorry for a new post, but I wanted to make sure everyone got this news. It's 12:30AM PST and the new products are up at www.rolandus.com. Go to Products-Keyboards-Synths & Samplers - Synths/Workstations and there is info on the Juno G and SH-201. This is rare for Roland. Usually they don't release any information until 10:00 AM PST the day of the show. Cool.

Looks like the Juno G is a full-blown Fantom-X w/ audio recording, more controls, minus the color screen but a bigger display than the Fantom Xa, room for "only" 1 SRX board, but claiming to have "the same high-powered processor as Roland's famous Fantom-X series". The info states "including an 88-note multisampled grand piano..." so I guess that includes the extra 64 megs that was added when the series migrated from "S" to "X".

Now the big question: Will it load Artemio's Planet-F library?

The SH-201 looks really cool too. And kudos to Roland on the re-designed site. By going to print preview in IE6 you get a really nice layout to print the info on these new products without alot of futzing around like used to be required.

Of course if they had hired Artemio they could have had a site this cool, functional, and useable at least 3 years ago :-)

Juno-G

Post by rnmw »

Does anyone think Roland might produce a 88 key version to take advantage of the "88-note multisampled grand piano..." ?... or is the Juno traditionally only produced with 61 keys?

... I suppose time will tell :-)

The_Magus: but at the same time, there is no new Fantom-Z so our X's retain their value for another year

Yes mad, but then i really hope to see another OS
release this year that will fixes the major inconveniences
of the actual one (slow graphical interface and poor
filesystem above all).
