fantom-s midi thru

okay heres the deal i have my fantom-s midi in hooked up to the midi thru on my motif es6 and the reason why its not hooked up to the midi out is beacause i have my mpc2kxl hooked up to the midi in and put on the motif es and my akai midi port are full to. ok what im tring to figure out is how does the midi thru work? do i have it hooked up right? if so what setting do i need to make. and for those who need to know why i wanna run it through the midi thru is because i want to be able to use the motif sequencer to make my beats i dont really like the fantom-s sequencer.

As I explained in my post on your other thread, Midi Thru simply passes on whatever is input into the Midi In connector of your device.

If your Fantom is hooked up to Midi Thru on your Motif, and Midi Thru is enabled on your Motif, your Fantom will be receiving whatever data is coming from the device that is connected to the Motif Midi in. If your MPC is hooked up to the Motif Midi In port, the data from the MPC should be passed thru to the Fantom. But you have to have Midi Thru enabled on the Motif.

ok how do i get the fantom sounds to pass in to the motif then. thats what im tring to do i dont want to pass the mpc sounds to the fantom-s i wanna pass fantom sounds to the motif please help im still a lil new to midi

Midi out from the motif (master) to midi in of fantom or mpc (whichever you want first will be in second position) midi thru from second position to midi in third position. MIDI rules, as you will soon find out.
