arpeggio tempo question.
arpeggio tempo question.
i was wondering if it was possible to change the tempo of the arpeggio for a part without changing the tempo of the overall song. say i use the arpeggio to chop a synth sound and i want to use the tempo to speed up or slow down the arpeggio.
Re: arpeggio tempo question.
Nope I don't think it's possible to do that with the arpeggiator. There's only one tempo setting and that's the overall one. Also I don't think it's possible to chop up a synth sound using the arpeggiator.

Re: arpeggio tempo question.
You can chop up a sample, assign it to notes, and create an arp with those notes. Its possible.
Individualising the arp tempo....hmm.....i dunno....this MAY be possible somehow...i'm not sure.

If at first you dont suceed, then skydiving is definitively not for you.

Re: arpeggio tempo question.
the only way I can see to do that would be to play the arpeggio seperately from the song, adjusting the tempo as you wanted, while creating a sample of the arpeggio. If it's short enough, you could use skip-back sampling. Then you put the sampled, tempo-changing arpeggio in your song.
Or couldn't you change the beat resolution of the arpeggio? (I'm not sure exactly what the parameter is called on the fantom-- its not in front of me). You know, changing the beat of the arpeggio from half note, to dotted quarter, to quarter-note triplet, to quarter, smaller and smaller.
If you find a solution that works, please let us know! I'm curious.

Re: arpeggio tempo question.
yeah it looks like my only choice is to use the slicer effect in the mfx. i was messing around with it today and it does exactly what i want it to do. say i play a choir type chord with aaahs in it. i can use the slicer to chop it up so it goes something like ah ah ah ah instead of a drawn out chord. then i can change the rate to hz and manipulate the speed of the chop slowing it down or speeding it up. the only thing is i have to sacrifice an mfx so i'll have to experiment with resampling since i haven't used this function yet. thanks for the replies guys.
Re: arpeggio tempo question.
I hope there's no limit to that number of Qs I can post in a day
, but this thread got me wondering...
I'd love to play some sequenced parts or arpeggios during keyboard solos in my band, but don't want the drummer to have to wear headphones or what have you to get the seq tempo. Is there anyway to set the tempo for sequences or arpeggios on the X by, say, tapping a button for a measure before hitting play? That way I could be sure that the solo was in time with the band. Thanks!
