About OS

So i read there's 2 OSs fpr Fantom X 1.0x and 2.0x, how do i check the version of theOS on the key?

Else 2.0 is newer of course, so that means that 1.0 systems are a bit behind? should os be a factor to consider while purchasing?

You will find all instructions on how to see your OS version and updated it in the FAQ: http://fantomized.info/docs/faq/Fantomized-FAQ.html. Note that you cannot upgrade from 1.x OS to 2.x, you will need the special Audio Track Expansion kit first.

So i should be looking to buy a 2.0 one if possible? Should a 1.0 OS be a factor to stop me to make apurchase?

OS 2.0 basically ads 8 audio tracks, new patches and multisample editor to OS 1.0.

A new 2.0 unit is less likely to have the motherboard issues that appears to have plagued a few of the first generation Fantom X's.

If you are buying new, accept nothing less.

So i guess i understand that the Fantoms produced lately have the audio expansion kit coming with them as default from factory?If they are OS2 this should be the case as far as i understand? So if i check the version today and its 2.0 i can figure i don't need the kit...

Right. I've had my Fantom for 1 1/2 months now, and it came from the factory with 2.0.

Ok just visited the store today to check version and prolly i'll be buying it on saturday morning (= Just had to wait wife's day off to go with me d=

VErsion is 2.0 So it should be ok right ? The ones that come with OS 2.0 straight away are newer boards i guess? So i shouldnt be worried about the defective mobos i read about on some older posts of this forum? (Like with slower response times while changing patches and performances in live mode)

And ...if it's OS 2.0 i have no need for the audio expansion kit, is that so? I'll get the cd with software and tha other things from the kit with my Fx? (well dont really believe ill get the CF and the adapter but the software would be nice). Roland brazil wants to charge me 100 dollars for the audio expansion kit lol thats robbery (i asked them before going to the store to check the OS version today, just to have an idea about the price of the kit)

The units that come from the factory upgraded to 2.0 will have a red/silver sticker on the left-hand top that says "Audio Track Expansion".

No kit is necessary for these units, as the upgrade is already in the unit.

And yes, the software comes with it.
