Fantom S locked up during update

Good Day,
Is there a work around for a Fantom S that has locked up during the process of updating the OS? If there is can someone please help me!!!!

Well maybe you've figured it out by now?

The only help I can give is that it worked for me. I downloaded the update to PC, then transfered to CompactFlash and inserted that into my FS. Follow the instructions which are in this site if you search for them.

Unfortunately, there is no solution to this problem. If the Fantom-S locked up during update, it's not likely to be updateable now. This is because the Fantoms use flash ROM (EEPROMs) and if the full burn cycle is not completed, the EEPROM is effectively ruined. Unfortunately, the only solution is to have the EEPROMs replaced, and since they are soldered onto a multi-layer pressed circuit board, it would take precision robotic soldering to accomplish this. Thus the only real solution is to replace the main board. This is in fact the only solution Roland tech support will offer you as well I'm afraid, though I'd strongly encourage you to call them.

gitguy78: This is the reason no one responded. MFMouseQuake did say "If there is can someone please help me." There isn't (other than calling Roland tech support or taking it in for repair).

Now he has a reason for the lockup and a possible solution.

If you hadn't answered, he may have tried to update his FS many times or even download the update over and over, suspecting a possible file download corruption.
