So much midi

Post by Moodyscorpio »

Hello folks I just got a fantom xr today to go along along with my es6 and 2000xl I have my es slaved to the 2000xl. I'm using protools as my daw i have my 2000xl slaved to protools. What I want to do is midi the xr up between the es6 and the 2000xl, but i want the 2000xl to be the master to es6 and xr.

What is 2000XL? Does it has USB-Midi interface system?(USB port and Midi port)
If not, 2000XL midi out(or Midi thru) to FXR Midi In, FantomXR Midi Thru to ES6 Midi In. Since I am not sure what you want to do with your DAW, you need to experiment with the set ups.
If you use Midi Thru port instead of Midi out, Midi information is relayed without being processed at the machine.
Please note of USB cable you can use as second Midi port at FXR.

MPC MIDI out A to your motif ES MIDI in-- which will be controlled on midi device 1A-16A

MPC MIDI out B to your fantom XR rack MIDI IN-- which will be on midi channels 1B-16B

MIDI out from your controller to the MIDI IN of the MPC

THis way you will be able to controll both racks from your MIDI controller and sequnce on the MPC

To access sounds from either rack choose use the MIDI setting on the MPC's sequncer
