I think someone did that in order to enable leslie or change speeds.

Art, or anyone else, can you confirm?

That would be cool

to use D-beam to turn on/off leslie effects-I would rather have one of the dial controllers to change speeds though.

yeah, using the D-beam buttons will probably be just the same as using the assignable sw's or the 4 controllers mentioned.
Anyway, that would be cool indead.

Are there people that use the D-beam often? I mean live, changing effect, controlling effects and maybe env depth...It sounds cooler than the 4 controllers (wheels or whatever)...More like a ribbon which feels every movement, and also it can be a bit random as no one I guess is so great with theramins...
I should try to use that D-beam!

Sorry for this off-note bubblings!

i don't have my Xa on right now so i can't dubble checkk this, but go into the ctrl section of the MFX that you want to assign to the D-beam, turn the source to breathe (or what ever the d-beam is set to) set the dest. to the peram you want to mess with and then the sens is how much you want to but be messed.
this should do you, but some of the O.G.'s might want to check to make sure i have it right

It's better to use a knob set up to double as a CC:01 modulation. This way all patches that have effects assigned to mod lever can be controlled by the knob as well. E.g. for organ patches, you'll just twist the knob and leave it, and Leslie speed will go up.

You can use the D-Beam to turn ON the leslie effect and use the modultation lever to turn is OFF again.

Set the D-Beam Values to Min=127, Max=127 and CC01:Modulation.

Make the link in the MFX's Control settings by linking CC01:Modulation to Speed +64.

Can be assigned a sysex to a pad that controls the leslie and than set the "Dbeam Pad Trigger" to control this pad setting "Pad Control Mode: LATCH" ?
I don't have the keyboard but i have studied the manual.

To be useful feels good. You get a warm feeling inside. I know I did when creating this monster.

(T'was a little joke. Not sarcastic/synical in any way so don't feel offended.)

BTW I just finished making a little example file which I will be posting in this thread shortly. It's an organ patch in wich you can use the D-Beam controller to toggle the Modulation ON/OFF as well as using Pad 1 and 2.
