Check your manual for "Live play"

Best way is "live play". Works like a charm.

i`ve never understood live play..
but i assume its like patch mode and is not multitimberal.

if thats the case then live play is not what i need.

i need to be in multitimberal mode.. aka perfomance mode.

Lets see if I understand you.
You want to change patches and/or performances, right?

You can save in the live play list performances and patches and switch between them. Its not only patches or only performances...

Edit: Oh mmccurdy just wrote the same thing before me, didn't notice:)

and the multitimberal part of the equasion would be a negative or an affermative?

also i have noticed that using the F1-F8 panel for changing patches is Slower in live play than in perfomance mixer mode when manualy selecting patches..
there is a noticable delay in live play even with patch remain ON

"Lets see if I understand you.

at the touch of a button or pad instead of having to scroll through a list.
but in multitimberal mode.
if it was possible to key in a number it would be great but i assume this is not so.

Quinnx,

I think this thread is what you are looking for.
Laurenz figured out how to switch patches (mute and unmute etc...) with the pads. (It uses sysex messages).

yep i also figured this one
but as he states, it takes alot of work to keep doing this for each song.

what i would like is access to something alread existing.
from what ive seen so far, im probably not going to find it and have to set up sysex as i had done before, but it takes alot of time.

we have a favorite list in perfomance mode but i dont see any way of accessing them on a key press.
ala f1-f8

I'm not sure, but I remember that someone worked on finding out how to use the pads and load a patch, or a favorite page, I don't remember...
From what I've seen so far, everything is possible with this machine (except hardware limits, although 8 more tracks are connected with hardware, lol).
Maybe we should organize a huge questions letter and send it to Roland, maybe some of them know everything about it...
And maybe no ones know and its like that movie, "cube", where everyone builds his tiny part and that creates a huge complicated cube. omg I'm talking off-note (b*llsh*t) again....

Anyway...You are right about the live settings. It takes YEARS to load something. I found that it does have some "rules" and if the performances (for example) use all MFX's, or something like that, it can take realy a short time, that you can't even notice. Once in a while I create a list that 2 of its patches/performances change very fast between each other. Another thing to check out. If we would know exactly how to reduce the times it can realy reduce the times changes, like kurzweils

HERE IT IS!!!!!YEAH!!!!

Post by Kakaroto »

Lazeeboy is the "founder" of this option. And he was the one that said how it is possible to change between groups inside a performance....

http://forum.fantomized.info/?action=sh ... d=0&page=1

This is a "new" version. He gives there a link to the older thread with his explanations. At last:)
Thx Lazeeboy!!!

I tested a Fantom x7 with the new Audio Xpansion and you can use the pads to mute/unmute parts. the problems is that you poliphony is wasted and must be imposible to create more than 6 sounds layers, you can ear how poliphony cuts..
A solution for this problem must be found on fantom Xa.you can use the 8 part buttons and thew Swith on/off function to create 8 layers and preserve poliphony for patches not used.
