I am trying to find out if I will harm my Fantom X6.
The setup I want to use is balanced connections from the X6 to XLR inputs on a BR1600. That's pretty easty to do. My question arises if I turn on Phantom Power on the 1600? I am primarily a guitarist and I use condensor mics for my amp. Will turning on Phantom Power hurt the Fantom at all?
Thanks
Mark

Re: Phantom Power
Whether or not it will harm the Fantom is one thing: It probably won't, but it could, and there is no reason to run Phantom power to the Fantom.
Unfortunately, the BR1600 does not let you enable Phantom Power per channel so you are kind of stuck.

Re: Phantom Power
best approach for a condensor to the fantom?.....
in that case, the best would be to get a small pre-amp that can give you the 48v phantom power, because a condensor mic needs it.......there are condensors that come with power sources here and there.
Would the 48v hurt the Fantom?......I don't see how....but I'm not mr wizard or anything.

Re: Phantom Power
Thanks everyone. I have thought about buying a pre-amp just for the mics. That would solve the whole mess.
