The best book on music theory for serious pop musicians is Mark Levine's The Jazz Theory Book. If you're not into jazz, it makes no difference. This book is the Bible of contemporary music theory.

One warning, this book is very comprehensive. There's a lot of music theory to learn and you won't learn it quickly. It takes serious dedication to master this stuff, but everything about pop/jazz music theory is here.

Another good book I found is Harmony & Theory: A Comprehensive Source for All Musicians. It's a MI Press book and is more of a workbook.
