BIGGSIXX06, Welcome to the forum. At the top of the page here under the Utility Links there is a search function. Try typing in some keywords into the search frame and see what ya get. There are tons of threads relating to your very question. It might prove beneficial to get to know the workings of this forum as well as the etiquette of the world wide web. There is also a link to the Frequently Asked Questions that will absolutely answer every issue you expressed in your post. If, after doing some search requests and reading the FAQ, you still have questions there are over 2000 here that will be more than happy to reply further. Also as Septimo said, get ready to be corrected for further unwitting mistakes you might make in future.

Hi BIGSIXX06

First of all : welcome
second: Please turn the volume down ;-)
third: although many of us would be glad to help, you've defenitly got to spend some time reading the XA manual, Fantomized FAQs and Tutorials in order to understand the basics. The problem is that your questions are far to generic for anyone to fit an answer to you in one (or several) post.

So, take a deep breath, slow down, get some time to read and get into the wonders of the Fantoms - we'll be here to help after that :-)

BIGSIXX06,

Hello and welcome to Fantomized. It seems that you have a sense of humor and are not thin-skinned, which are good qualities to have. If you continue with that attitude, along with trying things out and asking specific questions, you will find a lot of knowledgeable folks willing to assist.

Take a look at this thread. http://forum.fantomized.info/?action=sh ... d=1&page=1
In it is a post that lists some very useful links to the Workshop series, etc., that you will find very useful. These links are also available from the Home Page under 'from Roland' I suggest that you go through these as they will help you get a good basic understanding of the Fantom. Along with the DVD, you should be able to get up and running. And of course, ask questions. As stated prior, specific questions will garner a response. Pianodick gave some excellent advice in terms of using the Search function and FAQs.

Be patient, take time to get the basics happening, and try things. If you are still stuck, ask. There is a lot of help available here, trust me. These folks are sharp.

And by the way, we all aren't 'computer geeks', LOL!
It's just somewhat considered 'cyber-etiquette' to not use all CAPS when participating in a forum, as it tends to draw unneeded emphasis to a question or issue.

Once again, welcome and good luck on learning your machine. You're going to dig this beast!

BIGSIXX06,

First of all, let me correct something I misled you on. I pointed you to the workshops for the X6, X7, and X8. You have an XA. You want to go here:
http://www.rolandus.com/products/detail ... ageMode=19

Sorry for the error.

I have an X6, so I'll take an semi-educated stab at what you are asking. I think the reason you don't see 'Bump It Up' in the Patch List is that is is a Sample that is loaded when you bootup (along with the other Samples you mentioned as a 'series of sounds'). So you will have to go to the Sample List and then assign the Sample to a Pad or to the Keyboard. Look in your manual for a procedure to 'Assign a Sample' or something like that. It will tell you how to access the Sample List and perform the operation. The XA manual is not online yet, so I cannot verify this; but I'm sure it's there. Use your Index liberally, it will be your best friend!

The 'Speed Sequencing' and 'Exploring the XA' look like good workshops to dig into. Also, 'Importing and Using Loops' may be useful to you.

Anyway, I hope this helps to point you towards your answer. You have all of the materials, so a lot of it is a matter of learning the terminology as you stated earlier. If there are any XA owners out there, they can jump in and give some advice.

I haven't really gotten into the arpeggiator, so perhaps one of the other guys can help there.

Good luck.

Bassman
