mono audio tracks with os 2.0?

I have the os 2.0

for voice or bass track, I would like to record in mono to have a better load time and more time of recording.

But I think we cannot do this in the audio multitrack mode.

I am right or not ?
what do you think about it?

not having 2.0 i would assume you set mono stereo setting in sampler settings.
