Damper Pedal Question

Post by btdvox »

Hey guysv im having some problems, first of all when i record piano sounds using the damper and i start the song in the middle of it i wont hear the damper but when i start it from the start the damper will come on (rather the resonance) Why is this happening? its not really a big problem but its kinda annoying...

Secondly When you use the Damper Pedal if i keep playing does it use up all the voices because on the voice mon it does but my sound doesnt cut out at alll... lol if it does why doesnt the sound cut out or any notes drop out? thanks

Hi,

As I understand it, when you first press the pedal down (for example at the beginning of your song), you are sending a midi mssage to tell the fantom to sustain the note. It is a one off event, so if you start your song after that event (ie after the midi message was sent) the fantom won't know about the sustain message that went before, and will therefore play an unsustained note.

A midi message is also send when you lift your foot OFF pedal.

When you press the pedal down for a long period of time, it does use up the polyphony, and I have noticed notes dropping out, but sometimes it's so cleverly done, that it's really difficult to notice...

Hope this is sort of what you were after...

Really I really couldnt notice any really maybe one note even if that when doing scales and what not, and live i hardly doubt people will notice it if i could hardly even notice it! whic his really cool, i barely could notice it if even at all. Amazes me lol. if it does ill just let go and regain every 2 measures for some of the songs
