El Weezie.............don't know whether to take your comment seriously or not..........grammar police?
My post didn't focus on the grammer, but the logic. vinne35 professed to some limitations that his post didn't support. I submit that a run on post with reasonable spelling (which indicates a relative level of sentience) demonstrates laziness more than anything else. We have all spent a lifetime learning our native languages, exposed to their routine usage through many different mediums..........and then to fall back into this IM mentality and use it as an excuse. See, we're not just shooting the shit with a bud here. We're basically a widely disparate group of strangers with a common bond, and that's making music with the Fantom family. To assume that someone wishes to converse in your lingo is to place your expectations on them. It is far more polite in mixed company in any venue to converse in the language of the realm.
I spent twenty years in the Navy, a place with its own culture. I learned and used terms and styles that have no place outside of that realm. A college professor amidst his or her colleagues speaks in a collegial realm that would leave most of us mystified. Pick any culture, any realm, and they all have their language.
Bottom line..........new people step in here everyday with questions ranging from the mundane to the difficult. It behooves us all to keep our discourse in a level that everyone can utilize, so that we can all learn from every post.
I give plenty of space for the difficulties of using English as a second language. But for a native english speaker, the points that 2T and I made on this post are not out of line.

Hey Mucsusn,
"Bottom line..........new people step in here everyday with questions ranging from the mundane to the difficult. It behooves us all to keep our discourse in a level that everyone can utilize, so that we can all learn from every post."
Totally agree!!! But you two gentlemen imho, disrespect those you are trying to correct. I know you will disagree and thats fine. Lets just say that we agree to disagree on this matter. Finally in closing my apologizes to Vinne35 and the other board members for getting off topic. Lets get back to music. Twenty years Navy, I am a Airforce man myself..."Aim High"

this is great comedy!
I prefer shorthand typin over disrespect any time....
your desires to be smarter than u guys really are, are the true reasons why u disrespect. u feel that if u put someone down by tellin them 'your dumb' maybe in your heads you'll start beleivein "I'm SMART!"
And although mucsusn does bring up some facts, I have never read anythin posted here that I could not understand. the reason for that is because usually it's somethin like shorthand (laziness)and NOT ebonics...and to suggest that, u have to be a real MORON!(2tim told me this before)
I've stated in the past that even the the 'Great MUC' has used instances of "street lingo" i.e. ("it's pretty tight" "It's the shit" and yes even"shiznit" oh and "you 'DA' mann")... kinda funny in a way..;-)but it's cool, no one is judging him.
it look's like everyone does understand each other here in this forum. but ther are a few ppl who are more concerned in pointing(i put a G on 'pointing', cuz I actually pronounce it that way) faults in others to drown out theirs and hopefully fill that void within them.
so PPL. don't let these "smart guys" dicourage your post! 2tim(ESPECIALLY 2tim) ain't no one here to 'welcome'or 'unwelome' anyboby here...
BTW it IS uncall for...........
and read Piandick's signature it's very very true....

Re: Vsynth XT
I don't desire or lust to be smarter than I am. I endeavor to put what I have to good use. In no way did I tell vinne35 that he 'was dumb'. Didn't come close. In fact, I gave him credit for being sharper than he was giving himself credit for. Get my comments in context before you deliver your analysis.
"hey whats up room how do u think the mv and Vsynth XT would be good to gather i really like the VSynth XT I read that the price for thing was going to cost someething like 2500 dollars that kinda expensive if it is in the 1000 to 1600 rang i just might check it out tell me what u gusy think and if u have any detail on the release and the price of the VSynth XT." This is not shorthand.............this is a runon sentence of complete articulated thoughts, spelled reasonably well, simply without punctuation. Sure, I understand, but it sure is hard to read. Reading should not be work! Oh yeah, when did I compare it to ebonics, and when did I put on the shout button and call anybody a name?
When did I patronize vinne35? I'm not the 'GreatMUC', just simple little mucsusn. And yes, I've used instances of street lingo, probably with a great deal of relevant context.
I didn't discourage vinne35's post. In fact, I encouraged him to give himself more credit than he was giving himself.

Re: Vsynth XT
If it wasn't u, then don't worry about it. I did not say it was u that said,,, but then again u knew that. and the "Your DUMB" remark was jus a sum of everything u guys were basicly sayin... but u knew that also...
so...
"Get my comments in context before you deliver your analysis" goes for u!
I said what i did about u and that's it. maybe i went out on a limb by callin u 'Great MUC' if I did then i appologise....cuz we all know better... but that's it.....
what i said about the rest, is what it is....sorry.....
and 2tim once compared my typin to ebonics. so that also was directed to him...u were jus my simple example...
does anyone esp. 2tim(let me specificly say names before someone jumps down my throat) ever take into consideration that the person he is "Welcoming" or correcting, maybe is strugglin to spell whatever he/she is tryin to spell... how egotistical....not everyone has the gift u have of communication. if it,s too much work to understand, dismiss it.... don't shine your 2 pennies on what's out of your range of thought.
It makes me think If they put a section here for pix like Art suggested, 2tim will have a problem with how your pix are presented. if it were up to him, we would have to some sort of dress code or have a hairstyle that he thought would be more appropriate for the forum.
"You should'nt have a mohawk, and YOU shouldn't wear makeup, Good decent ppl don't look like this!"
take your standards out of other ppl's lives and....
show some respect!!

Re: Vsynth XT
yea that thing is dope! I like the way the time trip pad shows up in the screen. that screen looks sharper than the FX screen, although it might not be. the XLR with the optional phantom pwr. is VERY nice...
and like u I can't wait to see the cost, income tax time is near!

Re: Vsynth XT
Ah well, Septimo.............no I didn't know that. I only read the context you used. Plural reference in the first paragrah......."u guys", etc. Then a follow on with specific addresses to me.
Ok, I get the hint. I'm out of line for seeking clarity and context.
Artemio, I've blanked out my profile. I've got nothing left to offer here. Please take my out of the database and remove my stats.
Peace

Re: Vsynth XT
To assist in getting this thread back on track, I have watched the V-Synth XT videos on Sonic and HC, and I can say that this thing is amazing! It does so much. The addition of the supersaw puts it right in there for mainstream dance and trance, and the patch templates go a long way in speeding up the creating of all types of new sounds.
It is a winner. I think even at $2500 retail, it is a good value.
Personally, I am interested in a certain "analog" sound, and I'm comparing V-Synth XT versus Virus-TI versus Alesis Fusion. So far, from the videos, the Fusion has the most "real" analog sounds, but I'm really liking the feature set on the V-Synth.

Re: Vsynth XT
Unconvinced...
Need to get my hands on a V2 Vsynth with Vocal card or an XT. I still can't help but think Roland have missed something - why of why oh why have they programmed new patches on the Vsynth which try to compete with romplers?!
Just don't get it - why don't they program it with patches which actually show off the synth engine - on my demo of a V1 Vsynth I was completly unimpressed and I think you only start to get results after importing your own samples and trying to get what you want out of it - it's like a leap of faith to buy it based on promise.
Apart from the vocoder demo, I haven't seen anything else about the vocal card - which could potentially be great if it does what it says on the tin - and there's little point of buying a complete Vsynth XT or V2 board just for a vocoder - you can get that much cheaper. Here's hoping.
