Sequencer Effects

Post by hpaaxis »

Hope I can make my question clear...here goes!

When I plug my guitar in and I am in patch mode, the guitar picks up some effects from that patch. For example I use patch USER:085 Blue Meanie and it puts a delay on my guitar. If I hit the keyboard on Blue Meanie while in Patch/Rhythm mode it also has a delay associated with it and a very rich tone. Here is the problem...when I go into Layer/Split mode and use PRST:01 Seq:Template and select Blue Meanie for part 1 the sound is pathetic. There is no delay and no richness either in the keyboard or my guitar.

My question is...how do I get a patch to sound the same way it does in Layer/Split mode as it does in Patch/Rhythm mode? Can anyone help!

Thanks

Hello HPAAXIS,

Welcome to the forum!

To answer your question, In Patch/Rhythm mode all of the effects are able to be used towards the same sound, since Patch/Rhythm mode is only responsible for one sound or so. When you switch to Layer/Split (Performance) mode, you have to share the effect settings with all 16 tracks (sounds). So by default, the effects are left blank so that you can determine how they will be applied to the 16 different tracks.

You should be able to duplicate the Blue Meanie sound by copying the effects settings from the Patch to the effect settings of the Layer/Split mode.

You may want to see if anyone knows of an automated way to copy the settings rather than doing it manually.
