FX Q: to layer or not to layer (switch)

currently when you want to layer sounds you turn on the K switch.
this is great untill you select a part that does not have the K switch enabled.

Selecting a part that does not have the K swith enabled still plays all the part that do??

so if i have parts 1,2,3,4 layers but 5-16 are not.
then why playing any part above 4 does it still play parts 1-4??

is there away to disable this, since if im playing live, why!? would i want all other parts playing??
