Just got Fantom X6

Post by ssante »

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Its been awhile. I have issues with my right shoulder and have lost some mobility that has effected my abilty to play (any guitar) or play 88 keys synths. So I sold my Fantom S88 and just got a Fantom X6. Its good to be back as I have been pretty bummed regarding my shoulder and right arm.

I must say I am thrilled with the action and touch of the X6 keyboard. Very fast and tight. I have not had a synth action board this good since the Kawai K5000.

I love the color LCD and the whole interface and the improved pads and of course the polyphony.

Just printed our Artemio's tweak book and and will be studying it in depth. Thanks so much Artemio for such a great in depth guide.

I have begun designing sounds for my new sound library and my a new CD project I will be starting soon. Just wanted you all to know I intend to compose the entire project on the X6. I believe the X6 is that diverse and powerful.

I have completed songs in the past on a single workstation and it was a blast and the compositions worked out great. In fact on my Lotus release the track "Lotus Blossoms" was composed completely on a Korg Trinity.

The Fantom X is more powerful than the trinity was.

Looking forward to a long relationship with my X6.

Thanks bdub.

My Physical Therapist is recommending an MRI and an Orthopedic Surgeon to evaluate. I am hoping I can regain most of the motion. But it will most likely take some time.

Hi Sante,

Sad to read about your shoulder. But is good to feel that eaven with this tabu to be broken, things are better with you. Reading some posts I've started thinking of you. For so long I couldn't see your posts. Well, I also have to say that I've been a ghost member these days. Glad to find you again, and congratulations for your new baby. FX is really fantastic.

Congrats for your new X6, Stephanie! Sad to hear about your health problems - and I wish you the fastest and the easiest possible recovery. We are all with you!

Thank for your compliments about the TweakBook. I am planning to write around 3-4 new articles, and maybe soon it will be avaliable in print (!).

Good luck to you!

All your kind words have deeply moved me. Thanks so very much for your support. It really makes a world of difference.

BTW: The more I did into my X6 the more blown away I am.

Surgery on Sept 22.

Post by ssante »

Looks like I will be lurking with one Arm for awhile. The MRI results came back on my right sholder. Looks like 2 torn tendons with one (clean through) and lots of bone spurs needing removal around AC joint. If that was not enough I learned I have arthiritis in both shoulders. Surgery is Sept. 22nd, 2004. I will be in a sling for 1 month and in PT for 4-6 months. But hopefully I will get the arm back.

Looks like I will be doing alot of Fantom X programming with 1 arm while recouperating. But I will have a great personal library of sounds when I am recouperated.

Appreciate everyones support.

If you don't already have a PT in mind, make sure the one you choose has a strong manual therapy background and has much experience working with people who've had rotator cuff repairs. When it comes to shoulder rehab, I've come across only a handful of PT's who have consistent success (and they have the attributes mentioned above), so find one who specializes in shoulder rehab. Good luck to you and your surgeon...

Thanks so much Flowing. I will be sure to query my Surgeon regarding that aspect.
