I'm wondering if anyone here can help me with a problem I'm having with my RD-170.
I'm using it as a controller for my XR, and on my usual setup, and I have the volume send level set to 127, and the upper part volume slider set to maximum. When I hold down a sustained note, and move the volume slider down, the volume should, obvously, decrease. However, whenever I try and fade a part out like this, the volume starts to decrease, and then when the slider is about a fifth of the way down, the volume jumps up again. Does anyone know what might be causing this?
Thanx,
Kyle

Hi Kyle.
That could be a dirty slider on your RD-170. Record the slide into a sequencer and examine the actual MIDI values being transmitted. Chances are the actual MIDI values jump up like that. If that's the case, a faulty slider could be the cause. Without more information though, it's hard to tell.

I'm just curious, is there any chance that you are holding the note so long that it is actually "regenerating" before you get it faded all the way out? Just a thought.

Unfortunately no, it happens at a constant point on the slider, on any sound. I've cleaned it, but no difference unfortunately. It's brand new, I'm considering taking it back. My guess is it's just a production fault.
