cant use value dial at measure on fx6

Post by UPAMANYOO »

hi, great forum, just bring the fx6. but disappointed with fwd/back by only with fwd/back switches at sequencing. u can do it by round value dial at fs. if the switches become problematic u cant even record in the sequencer in future in fx. any idea ?

You want to use the value dial to scroll through measures of the song? Just locate the cursor to the M= xxxx value in the top right corner of the sequencer play screen, and use the inc/dec or value dial to go to the measure you want.

Also, you can use shift+FWD and shift+REW to skip by 10 measures at a time.

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ANY HINT ABOUT MY PREVIOUS QUESTION? IF THERE IS NO WAY TO SCROLL THE MEASURE FWD/BACK. BY VALUE DIAL, THEN I AM TOTALY DISAPPOINTED ABOUT MY NEW FANTOM X6 COMPARED TO MY TRITON CLASSIC. THINK ABOUT THE SITUATION WHEN THE FWD/BWD SWITCHES DO NOT WORK SMOOTHLY FOR TOO MUCH USES FOR SEQUENCING!

You cannot use the VALUE dial to scroll through measures while you have windows other than the Song Edit window open. As Artemio pointed out, you can use SHIFT + FWD or SHIFT + REW to move 10 measures at a time. Unless you pound those buttons, you need not worry about those buttons wearing out. It will take many many years for those buttons to stop functioning. Additionally, the VALUE dial will eventually wear out as well after a great number of years of use. Anything that moves will eventually wear out. No way around this.

Press the Loop/Locate button.

Set up 4 of the most common points you think you'll be going to.

Now you can fly around your song without wearing out the BWD/FWD buttons.

guys, i think u are very much fond of fantom x6. that is why u ignored a great user freindly option of sequencing, scrolling measure through value dial. any pro musician use the value dial frequently at the time of sequencing. like triton classic, fantom s , fantom x6 should also have this option. i think roland sell this keyboard with their latest technology hipe and publicity. but they also ignored the small but usful utility of the value dial. this is one of my feature request to their next system upgrade. thank u guys for ur quick responses. this is the best forum of fantoms/x. upamanyoo

To be honest I never missed being able to use the data wheel to move through a song.

Also out of anyone here I feel I am the least biased toward any one brand. I've owned just about all of them and they all have their bad points.

Yes, we are very fond of the Fantom. Is that somehow wrong?
