Hello everyone.. Please could someone help me out please.. just finished a gig with my trusty x6. noticed a few of my samples were crackling to say the least.. just got home before i start my evening gig and decided to try it out at home..
Powered it up, and for the 1st time ever, i saw the dimm error message.please check dimms and turn off.. i unscrewed the back plate, took the dimms out .... waited a while.... put back in but the same message... tried this several times with no luck... i have the max dimm upgrade 512 i believe.. If power the x6 up without any dimms , it works fine..
Now my worry is I have a fantom s.. again fully upgraded.. Ive taken out the dimms from the fantom s, and put them in the fantom x6 but the same message appears..
I can understand 1 set of dimms failing for whatever reason, but not 2....
Please please could anyone shed some light on this...
massive thanks in advance.
Martin
dimm error
Re: dimm error
Hi Martin
I am having a similar problem with my Fan X. Samples are playing back with the crackling or distorted sound, not loading, not saving. I bought a new 512 MB DIMM. Initially I thought it was ok but then the same problem is back.
I havent had the DIMM message - usually it is "Card Full" - but it is a 1GB SD card and this memory shows up in the Info screen.
If I put the card holder and card into my V-Synth XT then that shows the full card memory.
I don't really know what else to try and wondered if you had got any further with yours.
