Change Patches quick
Hello Everyone. I hope to find you all in great health.
I had a question regarding patch switching. Yes I have seen the post on the Live sound switching tutorial, but I feel that process is very long and you are limited. Is there a way to go through the patch list and find the sound without having the patch change as you are jumping through the categories. Because I love how it is organized by instrumental category.

Re: Change Patches quick
eamusik2008, on the main Patch screen, look for the "Lock" box next to the Patch Category. Ticking that will make the Fantom scroll only through the current Patch Category. When the cursor is located at the Patch group, you can select the group.
Is that what you meant?

Hi Andy,
From the post, my understanding is that what eamusik2008 is asking is that while Scrolling patches, he would like not to have the sound following the scroll, until he was finished scrolling and have chosen the new patch...
I think...
Take care

Hi PauloF, Oh, ok. My mistake. Blame it on the breakfast whisky! Erm, not that I know of, in that case.

Re: Change Patches quick
Hello,
Thanks all for the responses. I am like ripping my hair out to find a way to successfully change patches smoothly like how an Arranger has all the sound categories laid out and easily found. Because lets face it, when playing live you need to find a sound quick or else there will be a huge gap of silence.

Re: Change Patches quick
eamusik2008,
did you assign your wanted (or most used) patches to specific (user-)locations ?
And did you then assign those locations to your ' Favourites' buttons ?
Then you get the wanted patch (or performance) in one click.
Or am I thinking in the ' wrong' way and were you talking ' beyond Favourites' ?

Re: Change Patches quick
Thank you. I assigned all my favorites but I am going to try the live sound changing technique one more time.

Re: Change Patches quick
Actually I tried what you said by grouping all my favorite user patches next to each other. For example a synth in User 001 and a brass in 002 and assigned these to the live setting play. Wow I can instantly change quick!
THANKS

Re: Change Patches quick
eamusik2008,
I had the same problems a few years ago...
I solved it this way:
When you changed the patch or performance exactly the way you like it and than press:
Save/Load.
A menu will appear with 8 options:
Save song and samples
Load song and samples
Save song
Load song
Save all samples
Load all samples
Save as SMF
Import audio.
You move the cursor to "save song"
After pressing "save song" you can give your patch or performance a name.
When you give you patch or performance a name, you press "write". When you use a CF card, you can select to save the item in "user" or "card".
Select the right one and press "save".
Your patch or performance is saved as .SVQ a sort midifile.
I use it this way for about 2 years and it is much better then the way the FG works with recalling patches or performances (I use 282 different patches/performances at the moment).
It also sort from a-z so you always can search fast and good!
When you want to recall one of your patches/performances press:
Save/Load and than press "load Song" and the list of performances will appear on the screen. Select by scrollin the wheel or using the cursor and press "enter". The song is loaded within a sec.
Is this the way you want to work with the FX?
I think it is a great way to use the FX.
Good luck..
