Hi fantom x users. I have a question for you:
For many years I have used greatly the 8 part function in my roland jv90- xp 50 and xp 30. I use it a lot . I play classical music and I program a performance with 8 patches (strings/horns/woodwinds/ timpani,.....) that I can turn on off with out problems. I want to buy a new fantom x but before I want to know if roland implement this function on the new fantom?
Can you tell me if orchestral sounds are great or must I need to buy the classicals series repack (SRX 06).
Thanks for your help.
8 part on/off still in fantom X?
Re: 8 part on/off still in fantom X?
The new FX series allows for switching tracks/parts with 16 pads. It's exactly like JV/XP series used to do with 8 or 16 dedicated buttons.
Re: 8 part on/off still in fantom X?
Artemio: Are you talking about the red pads at the rigth of keyboard? can`t you use the 8 buttons below the display?
(the 8 part buttons in JV/XP series are located below the display and After many years of use I had learn to change the sounds very fast with my left hand!!!)
thanks
Elith

Re: 8 part on/off still in fantom X?
You can use the F1-F8 buttons to switch among "Favorite" patches, but not for muting/unmuting. Only pads can be used to mute/unmute. I agree, JV/XP lines had a better way to do this, but think of if the FX had 200 buttons on the panel!!!

It seems to me that it would be very simple to include this great feature as an OS upgrade for Fantom - S. Part muting is the only feature I am jealous of when considering FX.
