a loop station linked to fantom x output

i was wanting to use a guitar loop station with an output from the x8 into the loop station the midi linked to sync in a live joint looping performance with the fantom x has anyone any experience to say whether it will work ok before i buy the loop station.Any other alternatives would be helpful too.Thanks for reading.Have a nice day.
