Dont know much about logic pro or apple macs but I would just use the Fantom and forget the Edirol for now and see how you get on with just the Fantom as the midi device in and out

hey ruthless, i stumbled on your post as i was meandering the internet for somewhat related info. so i actually joined this forum so i could give you a little help. in order for your roland to work happily with logic you need to configure a few things so that your hardware and software can work hand-in-hand, in short you need to set up a midi communication between the two.

i'm really not an expert on these matters -in fact i own a roland fantom x7 and i use logic pro and i've lately been on the same journey as you. if i may first suggest, however: don't listen to too many people in these forums if they go too far over your head or if they seem to think they know what they're talking about with a lot of blah blah blah that leads to nowhere. look for people that think and speak clearly and who address the the question to the poster's level of understanding.

Here's what i'd like to try. go to youtube and look for "sflogicninja". this guy will really help you and you'll also learn a lot from what he has to say/teach. he's also a pretty nice guy. also, check out all his videos because they're very informative and most of what he discusses has to do with logic.

good luck and don't ever get discouraged! keep the spark alive!

i'll check into this forum once in a while to see what's up and to hunt around and to see if i've hopefully reached you.

later . . .
