Need help adjusting my X6 sounds for new band (Psychedelic S
Hi, I've been asked to help out some guys with some synth work on my X6. Their music is very much in the vein of Ozric Tentacles / Hawkwind but my patches don't bear any relation to this ! Can I make any particular adjustments or is my X6 just not designed for this sort of music ?
thanks for any help

I would sy that the X can do any type of music as long as you are willing to edit the presets or start new patches from scratch. With all the waveforms in there, plus the effects, I'd say there is no way that you won't be able to eventually create what you are looking for.
The problem is that we often do not know where to start!
All I say is that I play progressive metal and I'm happy with my Fantom XR (rack version of the X6). I was able to create some very good leads like Jordan Rudess or Derek Sherinian leads, and some good pads and string layers.
Don't forget you can always use a performance to layer some patches so you can get even more possibilities!
So I think that this synth canbe used for almost everything as long as you are willing to spend the time to customize it to your needs.
So have fun editing!

hi realconcept!
i'm new in the metal world. i use my fantom x8 and i am very happy with the sound, but for metal it must be less natural. i have nice natural strings for example, but i'm not able zu create strings for metal with that special touch. or well-known synth-leads.
would you share your patches with me. i need inspiration for my soundcreation.
thank you!

I'll sure help a fellow metal head!
Give me your email address and I can send you my user bank (patches and performances)
I have plenty of patches that I got here on the clan or I created or tweaked myself. I also have two great performances (one lead I use all the time) and a string pad with adjustable volume for each layer.
So give me your email, and I'll be glad to send them to you. And you could let me know what you think of the patches.

i don't have found a favourite lead sound, and i'm (still) not able zu create a dreamsound. maybe your user bank brings better inspiration or even satisfaction
please send it to anton_jeremy@
i will try the sounds as soon as possible!

Good, I'll try to send it to you tonight. I'll send it to you as a librairian file. So you can use the librairian software to add only the patches you like to your current setup.

Hi Phil,
Would you be willing to share those sounds with me too? I still struggle with strings that fit in a rock context.

hi,
nearly every patch belongs to the xv patches. i use the same
.
next i will try your three performances, therefore i have to copy the patches, which are needed, to the right place. i do that, when i have more time ;D.
thanks after all!
