Cubase 5 and Fantom - notes played are delayed!!

Hello

I was lucky enough to take delivery of a brand new high spec music optimsed powerful PC and cubase 5, together with high performance steinberg interface.

I'm using the Fantom as my master keyboard, however when recording (not when just playing without recording) the notes are delayed by about a quarter second.

I dont think its to do with cubase or latency as its all high spec gear, with no other outboard gear.

Quantise I am well familiar with and cannot see it can be that. As I say every note is slightly delayed when reording only.

I have the fantom set up as follows;

LOCAL OFF
Master MTC (tried in slave mode but made no difference)

Anyone have a clue?

That's a well known Cubase problem.

Have you ever worked with Cubase before? Seems as if you have to look here:

That solved my Cubase time problem forever. I own a Fantom too (X-6).

have you checked buffer settings in Cubase?
