using Fantom7; SONAR 8 Studio;
in performance mode;
how do you:
send patch changes from cakewalk to fantom?
send performance change from cakewalk to Fantom?
(probably posted in here somewhere, already, sorry!)

Re: patch changes in performance mode
can you explain in more detail. what changes?
Re: patch changes in performance mode
ok, downloaded the .ins program files from cakewalk website; that listed all of the program names and #'s off the Fantom!
Still haven't figured out changing the performance group yet.

Hi PhlStl,
See the manual, p.41 for "Selecting Patches from the List". The list screen gives you the Bank Select & Programme Change details for every Patch in your Fantom (including SRX boards).
Page 99 gives the same for Performances.
There is some SysEx code you need if you want your DAW to switch between Patch & Performance mode, as apparently, just using the BS & PC doesn't switch modes.
That code is in this thread and there is a zip file containing the SysEx in this thread, if that helps.
Hope this answers your question.
Cheers
Andy

Re: patch changes in performance mode
ok; I'm going to stay in performance mode, so already there.
Now, while in performance mode, change from say (my own performance with keyboard splits and key ranges), CARD: 59 ZZ Top EP/SOLO; to: CARD: 60 PIANO/Synth solo.
If I can do that, cool. And going 1 step forward, can I just stay in one performance for the entire night, changing patches within the performance (I can do that easily, thanks), AND turning keyboard parts on/off as needed, AND changing key ranges?
BTW, could not read the zip file, maybe that holds the answer?

Hi,

In Performance mode:
1. Select card performance bank: BS MSB/LSB-> (085/032)
2. Change performance: PC 60
Send that on the Performance Control Channel. (this is typically Ch 16, but you can change that parameter: System, MIDI Parameter, "Performance Ctrl Ch".)

Requires SysEx-Sequences, you can find them using Fantom X Editor, when changing your parameter settings there.
Cheers
