Mixing sample tracks on Fantom X6

Post by Damfire »

Hi guys, I hope that somebody can help me.

I have a problem using samples in my songs, in my Fantom X6.
I trigger samples with the pads and I got this feeling that everything I record playing the pads lands in the mixer on track 10.

For example if I record one sample on track 3 and one on track 7, when I use the mixer, they always (together) on track 10 instead of one on 3 and one on 7. This way i can't mix the sample tracks the right way, because every sample track lands somehow on track 10.

If I like the song I record it anyway in Cubase, which got own mixer, but lot of stuff just stay in Fantom and i can't mix it right if I use some samples.

Thanks in advance.

sorry man,did you get it figured out? If not... 1.you can change what mixer channel the pads play at the bottom of the mixer.the default is channel 10. you will see tabs on the left with letters "k,A,P"the "p" is for pad.

2.After you sample, go to the "patch list",scroll to "card sample" pick your sample, assign it to a track, then change the pad assignment to that track.

3.Or use a empty card rhythm kit,on let's say, channel 4.Sample.assign the rhythm kit to use the pads.assign the sample to a pad & bang away. Now you can use the track fader to control the volume.Or patch edit.

hope this helps.

Being sarcastic is not going to add positive points to your karma. You could simply bump this thread up, possibly with a slightly rephrased question, that's the best way to get some more attention.

Hi tartracks,
many thanks man, you help me a lot.

Last 3 years I worked with the Fantom Xa and I never had this problems before. Three months ago I was going to buy the Fantom G but afther testing I go for Fantom X6 because of my SVQ files from Xa and because of SRX boards. A lot of things are same but also a lot of things are different to Xa, so the last 3 months I try my best to understand the machine better.

Anyway thank you a lot for your reply.

Hi Artemiy,
sorry for being sarcastic but if you don't get any replay and you know there is so many forum members that got an Fantom X you get a little bit disappointed, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for your advice, I try not to be sarcastic in the future.
