do i need an interface to record with fantom x6 on cubase ??

hey i'm new here and maybe this question is already here !! if so, i'm sorry for that !!

my question: do i have to have an interface for the fantom x6 to record my beats in cubase ?? right now i just got it connected to a mixer !! i can use the fantom as a midi controller but i cant record the sounds ...

i would appreciate an answer ...

You need two things,

1) A midi interface to record and play back the keys you play, most sound cards which have a 'game' connector on also come with a midi lead that will plug into it.

2) An Audio interface to record the sound from your Fantom, if your sound card has a line in then this will do without purchasing extra kit.

Shambler, a MIDI interface is not needed - Fantom-X works as a USB MIDI keyboard on itself.
