Help Copying Patches to Flash Card
Help Copying Patches to Flash Card
Hi All!
Still loving my J-G.
I finally got my compact flash adapter pc card (great deal on ebay for 3 bucks shipped!) and I wanted to put patches on the card. Can't seem to figure out how to directly put them on the card. Do you have to copy the patches one by one to the card from the keyboard or am I missing something from within the Librarian program?
Also not happy that you can only put 256 patches on a card no matter what the size!
BTW the walgreen's near me had compact flash 1GB cards for 9.99 so that's where I picked up my Sandisk Ultra II card.. Just trying to pass on the savings no personal interest in Walgreens!

Re: Help Copying Patches to Flash Card
Go to MENU, select File Utility, browse to the /ROLAND/SND folder, select the JUNOG.SVD file, choose the "copy" operation, now browse to the /ROLAND/SND folder on the card and execute. Eject and re-insert the card, and your user patches will be there.

Artemiy,
If that works when I get home and try it then it is true: you are "the Man.."
Thanks,

Re: Help Copying Patches to Flash Card
Tried the backup card function with no luck that's why I asked..
Re: Help Copying Patches to Flash Card
"User backup" just makes a copy of the user memory and puts that on a card, but in a different form so it can only be loaded via "user restore" into the user memory again. What we're talking about here is making a copy of the user sound bank that would be accessible as a card sound bank.
Re: Help Copying Patches to Flash Card
when you use / user backup /
does that make the card loaded ,
and only / user restore / brings back all the
stuff saved on the card , example : user patches , perf patches , etc .
like a roland D50 , ram card , where it keeps all
your settings on one backup ?
( by doing so , the card is only good for , full backup and
full restore ) ? using only like 16mgs on the card ,
and the rest of the memeory on the card is not used ?
is that correct ?

Re: Help Copying Patches to Flash Card
No, the card is usable even if there's a backup on it, it's stored separately from the patches, songs and samples.
Re: Help Copying Patches to Flash Card
while on the subject of card memory .
how do you load the patches from the patches that you can
download from this site .
and how would you put it in the juno g ?

Re: Help Copying Patches to Flash Card
Artemiy- It worked like a charm Thanks again!
Time Out: Use the Librarian to copy the files from the file you open to the "main" window in the Librarian, then write the to the G. So under the edit menu it would be COPY the selected patch(es) you want then INSERT them into the MAIN screen so you can WRITE them to the user space on the G.

that's the program that came on disc with the Editor application - should have come with your Juno.
