New XS Rack and Fantom

Post by fjs714 »

Hi Fellas,
I really like the sounds on my SRX cards so I'm not giving them up for the G. However how can I connect the new Yamaha xs rack through my Fantom x7?
Thanks Frank

Frank,

If you're asking about controlling the xs with x7, just use midi out from x7 to xs in and xs out to x7 in. This way you've got keys on the rack synth.

Fellas,
Once the connection is made, do I have to do anything else internally in the Fantom? Is it possible to switch back and forth for live performances? Can fovorite patches on the xs rack be saved on the favorites section of the Fantom?
Lastly, since I like the organ sounds on the xs better--can the Leslie effect be controlled by the Fantom?
Thanks Frank

yup, the expression pedal you use with your Fantom, will send a cc # to your XS rack.

You might have to make a change on the rack to accept it

Why does he need Midi out from the XS to midi in on the Fantom????????

It's not necessary if he is JUST going to be controlling the rack with the Fantom......

There will be no MIDI messages being transfered from the XS to the Fantom
