User Patches based on Expansion Cards

Post by billw »

I am creating some user patches based on waveforms in expansion cards (Ultimate Keys to be exact). Obviously, the patches can not be used w/o the expansion card installed, but I'm wondering what happens when you try to move the patches to another machine that might have the same expansion card but in a different slot. Does the Fantom automatically compensate or do the patches need to be changed?

If it's like most gear it will default to either a blank or initialized patch or it will find a numbered patch that is the same number in internal banks.

I'm guessing that it would work. When I edited the instrument definition files for each new SRX board, it did not require any entries for which slot it was in. Each SRX board has unique addresses.

That's what I had heard. I will have to open up the Fantom X and try it out I think...should be simple enough to test.
