Mission, Yes I am Black. I'm from the hood as well (Chicago) and like you I have been way past my last 5 dollars before.

And yes the term "come up" can be taken both ways.
I too did make a come up here in ATL. But not the come up, I hear in these records nowadays. You know as well as I do what most of them really mean when they say time to make a come up. They are referring to the easy sleazy way, the grimey greazy way. Etc...

I really don't mind how they do it "make the come up".
The streets are the streets, a world all to it own. But kids are a lot different these days, they actually take this music to heart and not see it as entertainment.

I'm am old school B-BOY; we just had more exposure to all kinds of RAP. These kids only get the negative aspects of RAP today. They are learning the wrong Shi%^&*. They are learning there’s only one way to make a come up. I just want more parity in what is presented to masses regarding RAP. They are learning the any money is good money.

Because what will happen is those of them that will want to make the come up the right way, will be hindered by the negative images put out by Rappers and their record companies. We can't have the world thinking we are all thugs. Because that’s how we have and will be seen. That will make the come up difficult for the one who want to do it the right way.

It's time for underground Rap music to go back underground where it belongs. It should not be on free TV and Radio. That’s what’s XMS radio if for, It should not be rammed down our throats at tax payers expense. Gansta Rap does not have to go away. It just needs to go over there.

Triple-x- That's all I want is Roland to make another “come up” and get some more of that money that Yamaha and Korg is getting from R&B and Hip Hop.
