Forgive my ignorance,i'm new to midi. Each phrase track can contain data for up to 16 channels;is this only practical and useful for connecting external instruments,ie sequencers,(data from midi infromation recorded on 1 track on the fantom, can be relayed across up to 16 tracks on an external sequencer). How is it useful in using just a stand alone Fantom?
Again i apologise for my stupidity:-(
Channels
Re: Channels
There are 16 tracks and 16 MIDI channels. Each track can hold data for one or more of those 16 channels. So these are like 16 x 16 = 256 virtual tracks, but there are still 16 channels.
How is it useful? You can sequence any part on any track you wish. When you connect external synths, you can define which tracks go to the internal sound chip and which go to MIDI, so you have 16 internal + 16 external = 32 parts.
