Hi all
am currently laying down the drum track of a song that I've been building up for a while on the X8. Am using a custom drum kit that I copied from one of the presets and then tweaked.
As it was a kit I used for an old performance, it has an odd key assignment - there is a timbale where you would expect the kick drum to be. I sorted this out on the pads by re-assigning the correct kick drum to the pad (PAD 1). So when I play the pad in patch mode, or even in the song it plays correctly.
When I hit the rhythm button to make the rhythm patterns available on pads 9-16 during the song, it seems to reload the timbale sound to the original pad again (PAD1), meaning that all of the patterns have timbale instead of kick drum in them! Very annoying. When I go to patch edit, it looks like the right sound is allocated, and you can only get into pad edit when the rhythm button is not pressed (right).
I think I'm missing a step here and it will be easy to correct, but I know it will be easier to ask you guys than sit and tear my hair out on the keyboard.
Thanks in advance
Moray
