what up everybody i got a fantom x6 and certain types of wav files sound messed up when i load them into my fantom, like theres extra white noise and stuff.
well i just got ahold of some decent 808 samples after using crappy ones and the wav files get messed up when i load them like some other wav samples i import.
if someone can convert them to the type of wav file that doesnt mess up without loosing quality it would be really helpful, plus you get to come up on some clean 808s

Re: wav samples sound distorted when loaded into fantom
I've had that problem as well ... try importing the files in the AIFF format ... I've had better luck that way ...
That may not help you with your sample CDs ...
have you tried using any of the professional Fantom converters?
I don't use sample CDs so my experience there is somwhat limited ...

Re: wav samples sound distorted when loaded into fantom
I havent listened to the samples, but to me it sounds like the loop points in the samples you are loading arent recognized. This is a well known problem with samples in WAV format. There are so many different ways to specify loop points in this format, and the Fantom only recognizes one of them.
The AIFF format on the other hand is well specified with respect to loop points, and the Fantom will always load these properly. So if you can get hold of your samples in AIFF format, I think you will be well pleased with the result.
