Weird -- fits right in with your proposed CD cover art. You have a very unique style Phait.

Re: New Carbon Flaw Demo - "Overdose"
Thanks for the feedback... but honestly, I'm finding it hard to believe. Are you guys being honest? Maybe I'm just way critical of myself.. but that's normal. I mean, "beautiful" seems to be stretching it..., and "excellent".
Not that I'm complaining, I guess I just don't understand, LOL.

I get the impression of a factory of some kind. Almost a Pink Floyd start but then it gets much darker. I like it! The beat gets blurry for me at the end. They could just be my inadequacies. Well done!

Very, very nice work, Phait! I see you are good at ambient stuff - greetings!
The track is well mixed/balanced. I really like the pad sound, breath and can sounds - everything seems to be on just a right place.
It is very noisy at the end - I like it!
Way to go!
Artemio.

Abstract - look forward to hearing some of your stuff then - don't know of anyone here that does stuff like this.
Thanks for all the feedback, it does not go by unappreciated!

Cool. Does sound a bit Pink Floydy.
Was it done using internal sounds or do you have samples there?

"Does sound a bit Pink Floydy."
Yes, I was expecting Phait to suddenly shout out "welcome to the machine" or "One of these days"

I liked it, too. Good consistent concept, well balanced, and it took a while to sort out what the elements were - a good thing. Me not being so much of the minimalist bent, I wanted a little more story.
I kind of felt like I was listening to the sound track of a scene that I needed to also see to get the whole impact. Maybe something thrown in to offset the regularity and raise more questions than mere expectation. Something about the nature of the changes toward the end led me to expect a surprise ending, too, and I was a little let down when it just stopped. Not badlu, but just kind of "Hm!" I think it could be more evocative. Just my 2 cents! Keep it up!
I think one of electronic music's strongest suits is creating ambience, interior mood. However, it also excels at extremes of sound, not neccesarily violent, but just that last bit of gliss you can't get out of a violin, or that super short note that a piano just can't do because of its construction, very fast low passages impossible acoustically, etc. All of these things get woken up in me when I hear things like what you've done, and connect them to the long history of electronic sound. You sound very close to that tradition - going back to Varése and Stockhausen - I'd like to hear you expand on that!
Just my 2 cents! Keep it up! Sounds great.

Interestingly I thought that the new XV patch library made available this week had a better range of patches for this type of music than the stock FS.
Some good Synth FX and excellent Pulsating patches.
Some great patches in this library
