In korg Kronos you have 16 combinations on the screen at the same time which all can consist of at least 8 differenent sounds/splits layers. Since it is a touchscreen you can select whatever sound after whatever sound via one click and like if keeping the chord pressed, sound doesnt get cut off after the change.
Can this be achieved in G fantom?
I guess the closest thing is using live set list but since it is not a touchscreen (right?) you cant choose whatever sound after whatever on-sight sound, instead you can only select next or previous on the list, is it so?
One thing that crossed my mind, is the thing that maybe via pads you can choose using it like "Numeric" to choose 1-16 via one click but you are then basicly limited to sixteen first sounds cos u cant click the 17th sound via one click?
Thanks.

Re: korg kronos type of sound change
You can use the pads to mute/unmute sounds within a live set. The G (like the Kronos) has "patch remain", so you can switch between live sets during play. Works well for me. (I also have the OASYS, but not the Kronos).

Yes. I am particularly wondering if for example I have a multisound in live set 001 and another multisound on 002 and again another multisound on 003 - is there a way to get from sound 001 to 003 via one click?trommis wrote:You can use the pads to mute/unmute sounds within a live set. You can do this with either the Favorite or the User Group features.
Favorites and User Groups can both be selected by the pads. They also have their own screens which you can use.
Please check out the following for more info:
Fantom-G Workshop 02- Power User Control
Fantom-G Workshop 03- Power User Control 2- The Pads
For example: to select Live Set 123, you would press 1-2-3-HOLD. That requires a lot of presses and a lot of memorization.

That is not how Numeric works. Numeric turns the pads into calculator style buttons, allowing you to type in any numbers you wish. Pads 1-9 work as the numbers 1-9. Pad 10 functions as 0 and HOLD as Enter. One thing that crossed my mind, is the thing that maybe via pads you can choose using it like "Numeric" to choose 1-16 via one click but you are then basicly limited to sixteen first sounds cos u cant click the 17th sound via one click?

Re: korg kronos type of sound change
Thank you for the reply JunoJohn. I checked out the pdf-files and seems that those given options would fulfill the urge :) Does the "patch remain"-functionality (the sound doesnt get cut off when changing) work also with favorites/user groups - like if they consist of livesets?
Re: korg kronos type of sound change
You can seamlessly switch between favourites if the stored favourites are single mode patches or live sets, but not a studio set, it will not work then. Studio sets have a kind of seamless switching in them if you use part select to change sounds, live mode does this too. Can be handy in certain situations. User groups a limited to the mode you are in, so you can't select anything other than a live set in the live mode users group pages. Hope this helps!
