Hi guys, I'm still new in understanding midi settings. :) Recently, I bought a 2nd hand M audio oxygen 49 key (1st gen/silver). I just want to extend my split settings in my live performance that's why I bought this. Midi in (fantom g6) - midi out (oxygen 49). I play with a variety/show band, I have already lots of programs in my LIVE MODE, so I just want to tweak maybe the channel setting just to minimize the work. Here's what i want to do:
>>>I want to use the keys of the 49 on my split settings in LIVE MODE
- I did this already, In Live mode, the default setting when i play the oxygen goes to part 1.
Question: How about if I have a layered sounds that I want to play in oxygen? Can i do this in LIVE MODE or maybe in STUDIO MODE that i have a 16 midi channel? But in STUDIO MODE i think its too much for a 16 midi channel for me.
>>>And Is it possible to control the faders via the fantom or the oxygen volume?
Thanks guys!

Re: Controlling oxygen 49 and fantom g
Sorry for the late reply. Are you still working on this?
I think the simplest approach is to turn on the Fantom-G6's Remote Keyboard Switch. This effectively transforms your Oxygen 49 into an extension of your FG6's keyboard. You would then use the Live Play screen on your FG6 to make all of your splits and layers. You would not need to make those settings on the Oxygen 49.
And, if you transpose one keyboard up and the other down, you could have up to 9 octaves of keys to play!
To turn on the Remote Keyboard Switch, press MENU-->System-->MIDI and cursor to "Remote Keyboard Sw."
(With the Remote Keyboard Switch turned ON, channel settings from other keyboards are ignored by the Fantom-G.)

Re: Controlling oxygen 49 and fantom g
@junojohn Thanks bro for your reply. Really appreciate it. But the thing is I leave already my oxygen 49 back in my country, currently i have a gig out of the country now and decided to get the roland a800 pro. Now Im a bit trouble again in controlling the a800 pro. I think this might help in the a800 pro. Ill try this once I got back at my house now. I'll update this thread, Thanks again!

Yes, you can layer Part 1 and Part 2 and play them with an external keyboard.mortymorph wrote:Here's what i want to do:
In my live set i have 8 parts right? at least I want to extend my split setting and layer sounds.
1. Can I play or set a layer sound ex. part 1 and part 2 to the a 800 pro? then the rest of the parts i can play it on my fantom g?
2. In this setting, will it affect the key zone? because on the omni mode its just same like i have a two sets of fantom g split setting.
I hope you can help me. And oh! Did I miss a setting on my fantom g? Thanks in advance!
There are three ways that come to mind:
A) With the Remote Keyboard Switch turned ON, set the layers on the Fantom-G's "Live Play (Layer/Split)" screen. You would probably want to transpose one keyboard up a few octaves and the other keyboard down a few to extend your range. I'd suggest that you set your A-800 Pro to transmit on just one channel. (It doesn't matter which channel you choose.)
B) With the Remote Keyboard Switch turned OFF, set your A-800 Pro to transmit on both channels 1 and 2. (I'm assuming this is possible, but I'm not familiar with the A-800 Pro.) On your Fantom, Part 1 should already be set to channel 1 and Part 2 to channel 2. If not, make sure they are.
C) With the Remote Keyboard Switch turned OFF, set your A-800 Pro to transmit on just one channel and set both Parts 1 and 2 on your Fantom-G to that same channel.
I don't know "omni mode" is on the A-800 Pro. If it means that is transmitting on all 16 channels, then you should probably avoid it.
