Specific patch in RPS pad mode

Hi everybody,
I got a fantom G about 2 months ago. I am really enjoying this board even though I am a newbie.
I recorded some complex phrases so I could play them with RPS Pad mode. I want these phrases to be played with an specific Patch. Where can I set that? Currently every time I choose a different live set (live mode) these phrases are played with a diffent sound patch. I understand they are recorded in the MIDI format but I wanted them to be played using an specific piano sound .
Thanks,
Augusto Pedroza

That's the rub—RPS is MIDI, and therefore, will always trigger one of the parts within your Live Set. Therefore, you have to assign the same patch to the same part in any of the Live Sets you plan on using said RPS, or...
...resample the piano part as an audio file and trigger it with the pads set to Sample Pad mode.
You could also try embedding bank select and PC changes into the RPS phrase to change the part's sound to a piano, but I'm not sure how well this would work in practice. At best, there would be glitches every time the RPS looped around.

I fine with the RPS playing one of the parts in my live set but the problem that I am seeing is no matter what I do, my RPS phrase always plays with the sound from Part 1. I already unselected KBD from part 1 and selected other parts but it did not change anything.
What am I doing wrong? Why is my phrase tied to Part 1 always?
Thanks again,

are you meaning that it's triggering parts from the live set? or the studio set?
I thought it was the studio set... that was triggered..?
either way, you have to change which part your phrase is referencing. You can do this by going into phrase edit and them modify and then change channel. change if from 1 (source) to whatever part you want it to reference.
let me know if this works for you.

These are the steps I took to create my phrase.
1. Pressed Song
2. Chose Phrase List
3. Loaded an empty phrase
4. Pressed Rec
5. Saved the recorded phrase.
Changed to live mode, created a live set with Pad Mode - RPS and assigned the pads to the phrases I just created.
My live set has part 1 as a piano patch and part 2 as a guitar set. I wanted to play the same phrase twice in the song. The first time I want to play it using the piano sound (part 1), second time I wanted to play it with the guitar sound (part 2). I'll try changing the src channel but that will not solve my problem. I wanted to be able to quickly change that during a live performance.

you need to duplicate the phrase. then name one of them (example) phrase 1/piano, then name the other phrase1/guitar.
just make sure you change the source part on the duplicated phrase so it will reference the guitar part.
I hope this helps.

I did not work
These are the steps I took:
1. Loaded my phrase
3. Selected Edit Phrase
4. Modify
5. Change Channel
a. I made sure all the options were set to all. Changed src channel from 1 to 2.
6. Saved Everything.
Tested playing this phrase in live mode. I had piano por part 1 and guitar for part 2. Once again it played with the piano sound.
I went back to my phrase, microscope mode and I noticed that channel for each midi event was still 1. For some reason my modification did not work.
Thanks,

did you duplicate the phrase? you have to do that!!!
also keep working with the change channel thing. it works! it may take a few times to get it right, but it works.
