Look out they pulled a fast one.

Hi all, I did not get any response on my last post, but I did end up finding the information and want to pass it on to you all. I wanted to play a electroic drum set and record it into the G. Well I picked up a DTxplorer from Yamaha and it does have a midi out, for what reason, I have no idea, the midi map they use is not GM midi. Now why did we years ago put together GM in the first place? The few note ass. that are in the right place work great. I have two ways of fixing this problem. One is to sample all of the drum sounds into the G, and this may be a great learning trip, or to buy up in drum moduals at a toon of 400 or more. I did record using audio in and this does work, but I loose any use of qunitization (sp) and anything else offered in the midi world. I guess I will have to work harder on my drumming skills. This is the way to go to record drums, when I get it all working, I really don't like to use the keyboard keys or use a can midi drum pattern. I ask you have you ever been able to do a flam tap on a keyboard?
All said it takes about $1,000.00, I will keep this set and record using audio for now, and put some dollars away and buy up in moduals that have the note ass. built into them. I don't think that I will take the time to go the other route and sample in all the drum sounds. As I said Look out Yammaha pulled a fast one.
