I saw an ad on e-bay for 1GB RAM (internal; not USB) for the Fantom G8. I thought PC133 max was 512MB. Has anyone else seen this ad; anyone else tried it?
Thanks.

Unless it's from a commercial entity that's actually tested the RAM in a G8 first-hand, I'd take it with a grain of salt.

We know that this has been requested from the wish list and we are looking into it... Until then, I wouldn't buy anything that we don't official recommend as we can't vouch for it working.

Awesome! Let's hope that OS 1.20 addresses this issue because it would really be a God send! If not in OS 1.20 then maybe in OS 1.30.
It's nice to know that Roland is actually "investigating" this as a possibility somewhere down the line..
BTW, it would really be cool if it was included in OS 1.20 Dan.
The coolest part though would be if it was actually included at all.
Thanks Roland for looking into this!
PS: I've got a 512MB CAS 2 stick in my Fantom G7 right now but I wouldn't mind forking over the cash and buying a 1 GB stick (even though they are a tad expensive
. Twice the RAM would go a long way in giving Fantom G owners much more "breathing room" when working on and saving a large, extensive project file, before the necessity of having to save to a USB stick on power down. Keeping the work flow and everything else within the confines of the Fantom G's memory for as much, and as long as possible, is a good thing in my opinion.

Dan, if this is really true, it's wonderful news. But is it technically possible? We know that this has been requested from the wish list and we are looking into it... Until then, I wouldn't buy anything that we don't official recommend as we can't vouch for it working.
