G6 noisy keys
Has anyone experienced this? I just got a brand new out the box yesterday and While playing I sometimes hear something that sounds like a shaker. So I turned down the volume and played on the white keys and every so often I hear this noise. I've never heard this before in my other G6 or any other new board for that matter. Just strange.

Some of the X's had loud keys as well, including mine.
There are ways to fix in most cases.

Re: G6 noisy keys
it's because of the Play/Stop/Rec buttons -they shake when u play
Happens to me as well on the G8. Drove me nuts until I found out what it was, it sounded like smth from inside the machine.
Strangely enough, after a while it just stops... before starting again.

I've also had keys make rattling noise when the board is not on a perfectly flat surface. Make sure the board is making good contact with your stand or desktop at all contact points as even a very small amount of movement is bad once you start hitting the keys harder.
Additionaly, I have had problems using an X style stand with longer boards when the arms are to close together (ie when the stand is adjusted higher). If the board isn't supported reasonably close to the ends you get alot of key noise, especially when playing hard high or low notes.

Re: G6 noisy keys
I have a feeling that the box was dropped. The rattling is somewhere below the pads where it says Fantom. I hear it off and on when playing keys. I can see one end of the box is kinda pushed in. This will be the second Fantom G6 I've had to swap. My 30 day warranty ends tomorrow so... The first one I had wouldn't boot up. It got hung up loading wav files. Hopefully third times a charm.

I heard the same sound when my fingers scratch the black area while playing my G. Please see the blue square in attached picture. It sounds like a shaker too.

Re: G6 noisy keys
My first G8 had a rattle. It went away if I held the volume dial, so I assumed it was that board that was rattling.
I took the G8 back and the replacement didn't have the rattle.
I bought my G6 online, so after my first G8 experience I was expecting it to have a rattle. I was pleased to find that, despite UPS's best efforts, my G6 has no rattle.
I'd swap it out if I was you.

No rattling in third G6
I took it back today. I looks like third times a charm. I bought the one year insurance plan. I think it's worth the extra $200 since this is the third G6 I've gotten. Also I originally bought it for $2099. So now arse is covered for awhile longer.
