I know its a hard sell.. but
Unless there is something really hard hitting missing from the g that stops you from making music.. i would`nt waste my time worrying about updates or the lack there of...
Or looking to upgrade any time in the future...

The G should keep you making music for at least the next 10-20 years
all you have to do for the future is add new technology around it as it comes along instead of trying to replace it..
So far the best complement to the G is the V-XT and external computer/daw
You really cant go wrong there..
the only problem i have is, so many possibilities cant keep up.

wtf, and if your car doesn't turn left, turn 3 times right. Fg Customer orientation from Roland is zero.

One thing I forgot is loading in sample library's, at least the old industry standard stuff akai and roland's own. The new stuff like kontakt would be great, but I don't know if that's realistic though.

Another Idea I thought of is allowing consecutive pad hits to trigger different phrases (hit it once and trigger phrase x, again and phrase y is triggered with the option to loop the new phrase or go back to the first after playing once). This would be an option in rps mode. This would give more of a true drum machine like feel, or for rps stuff one could easily create fills/breaks etc.

A creative use of a feature like this would be to use rps to create a cc phrase instead of a musical phrase, allowing the pads to be used as an on/off switch for any possible midi message in rps mode (hit it once and volume for channel x is 0 hit it again and it's 127). The only problem with this feature is that once one had a pad enabled that's a looped musical phrase, one couldn't ever stop the loop by hitting the pad again, they would have to use the stop button or hit another pad, which really isn't a problem anyway.

This may already be on the machine, I know there are rps mute groups, but is there already a way to have I guess one could call them "start" groups? hit one pad and all pad's in that group start playing?

I wish LCD could display notes on the staff. I can't find it in 1.50 version. If it exist please tell me how to launch it.
It is simple function found in almost each cheaper keyboards.
Also new pianos would be great to have.
