I played the ARX-02!!
Re: I played the ARX-02!!
What kind of Rhodes did you use for sampling?
Re: I played the ARX-02!!
I used a Mark II 73 stage piano.
Re: I played the ARX-02!!
That's exactly why I asked, and probably reason for none or uncertain reactions from those whom you asked if it sounded 'authentic'. I had a MKII myself for some years, after selling my Mk I (which I still regret).
The MkII is missing some of the typical dry and mellow vintage Herbie Hancock/Jan Hammer/GeorgeDuke sound, but it is very well suited for all kinds of 80s stuff (like Tom Canning backing Al Jarreau etc.), still being more than versatile enough for all musical styles. The MKII sound 'sparkles' a bit more than the MKI, at the cost of a slightly less substantial vintage tone.
Both have their own character, and though I make more use of MKI sounds, I also like the Mk II alternative.
The difference is limited, but quite noticeable.
So you should really publish your samples, as a well done MKII sound would be a very welcome addon to the already fine MKI-sounds of the Fantom G. I would certainly use it besides those, and for only 16MB sample space (tolerable loadingtime on the Fantom G) it really sounds very well done.
Don't worry too much about equaliszing: you can't equalize a MKII to sound like a MkI, and the best equalizer for any Rhodes is the natural valve equalisation of a Twin (or Twin amp modeling, adding a similar warm midrange presence), besides some small(! not to destroy the basic character of the sound) eq adjustments to your liking.

Re: I played the ARX-02!!
I would love to sample mK VII !!!
Re: I played the ARX-02!!
I don't like the Mk VII (you are talking about the new Rhodes, right?) remotely as much as the Mk I.
It sounds totally flat and polished and is missing most of the growl and character of the viontage gear.
Advanced technique should make good things better, but not provide lame subsitutes. ARX-02 was a good example for the latter...
