You could always rename the patch... you know... If you REALLY have a problem with it.

I myself love some of the original names they've come up in the fantom. There's also some patch called "SRY 4 DELAY" or something.

"It has nothing to do with any porn star"

lol.. My google must be playing tricks on me then. Coz I'm pretty sure that if you type that in and look at most of the results you will see that it is.

or maybe look on wiki

Here at Roland Japan, we are pretty reserved when it comes to the topic of 'sex'!

Ahhh . . . I remember the 'good ol days', when 'tranny' meant the transmission of a 69' Chev Impala!

"I wonder how many worship leaders, or churches would put such an instrument in their sanctuaries?"

I also wonder how many Worship Leaders and Churches would go through EVERY patch and live set name to find an offensive name and reject the keyboard because of it!

I think you're going a little overboard myself :P

You're getting me wrong! I have had the G since it's release. I never even noticed it until a girl tgat attends our church was going through my keyboard looking for some effects for our young peoples Christmas play. She stumbled on it, thought it was funny, and wondered if I was the one who programmed it. It became a topic of interest for her parents who then asked me why a company would put a program or patch into a keyboard with a sexual reference. Believe me, I explained the humor involved, but I had to agree that Roland is taking a chance by putting some edgy titles on their patche. Thumbs up, analoge, and such names aren,t offensive, bu when you introduce an instrument that should be family friendly with a patch name that infers "Bitch Bend Over", I have a tendency to agree with this family. You guys are acting as if I am looking for sexually implied patches and that is the farthest thing from the truth. If a patch would have eluded to a racial predjudistic statement, or a religious slam, most of the forum would probably scream inapropriate. I do believe someone here yelled about misspelled words? Anyway, I'll drop it. I just wanted Roland to know that I found myself in a very uncomfortable position, and they should probably address it as many of their customers are churches. Thanks for everyone's input. BTW, does anyone know where I can pick up the cable I need to connect my G to my pc?

Don't know in other countries but here, in Spain, we have a name for 'the most sensitive, and not so easy to find, women's part of their body' (er...you know what i mean) which it's called Punto G

LOL Point or Fantom, who cares? the more i use it, the more i love it!

How come a girl that attends church knows porn movies better than me????

I just got information from Roland Japan HQ: they sent you the latest illustrated edition of Kama Sutra so you can find a comfortable position*.

* The illustrations are actually made of Roland gear. Kind of pervert-ish, I know... well, we all are gear sluts aren't we? :-)

I'm still at a loss as to how anyone with a clean mind can get it into their head that "Pitch" is code for "bitch"!

Sounds to me like the filth was already in their heads.
It's not the first time I've been reminded recently that what we profess to hate the most is often what we are most jealous of. No longer specific to this thread, though, just an observation made on people in general...

Andy,
who is off to clean out his mind with soap & water.
Mmmm, soapy...

I think it devolved into a joke thread yeah :) Didn't mean any offense firstlovedan, I just would never have got "b*tch bend over" out of that :)

Well to be completely honest... "Ben Dover" has some connotations in the movie The Toxic Avenger... who's seen that one?! ;)

I definitely see the humor in this but I also understand Firstlovedan.

I don’t personally find the name to be offensive, it’s just someone's idea of a (maybe a little sick) joke. And it’s just like a lot of other things you may choose to protect a child from until they are old enough to decide what is right and wrong.

Many churches have computers.

If they choose not to use the computers parental lock to protect young ones from things they may not understand then they are the negligent party not the manufacturer of the computer. We have to take the same precautions with T.Vs, books, phones, people (and now it seems) keyboards etc.

It is our responsibility to protect our young ones.

So now you know it’s there if you find it to be offensive or feel a parent well not approve of it simply do not allow young ones to use your workstation. But asking Roland to change a patch because a child may not understand (or misunderstand) is like asking the government to remove all material that may be seen as harmful to children from the internet.

But I completely understand how unexpected this was and how uncomfortable this made you and the parents feel. Maybe Roland should start putting a warning in there manual to let users know the workstation may contain text that is unsuitable for children.

One more thing guys.

One of the reasons people go to church is because they are (we all are) full of sin and shame and cannot forgive themselves. And so they find comfort in knowing God will, so I don’t find it strange that a church member would know about porn or any other sin. In fact the more they know about sin the better they will be at telling others why they should stay away from it. Church members are not perfect that's why they need God, a perfect man does not need God and a perfect God can not use a perfect man. I think the legs on a couple of horses here are a bit to long.

Wait, don’t stone me, LOL you guys are the best, Hug! :-)
